Organizational Description

Addis Ababa University School of Commerce (AAUSoC), the first business school in Ethiopia, was established in 1943 to train Ethiopians for occupations in the commercial and business sector of the nation. The school has 75 years of experience building the nations human capital providing trainings in a number of fields of studies such as Accounting, Business Leadership, Business Administration and Information systems, Finance and Development Economics, Marketing Management and the like. Currently the school has six undergraduate programs, five graduate programs and one PhD program. In addition to this the school participates in a number of research projects and provides community services providing professional consulting and training services to various organizations in the country.

Key Person:

Konjit Hailu Gudeta is a senior lecturer at AAUSoC and a doctoral candidate at Tilburg University, NL. She has researched and published in the area of women entrepreneurship and their work-life experiences. She has received the 2014 Addis Ababa University President’s award for Emerging Faculty Scholar Award category as a young scholar with outstanding contribution.
