Nathan Were, a native Ugandan is a Program Manager – Financial Inclusion, Africa at FINCA Canada. He oversees a large scale financial inclusion program sponsored by the MasterCard Foundation that is helping FINCA scale-up alternative delivery channels in Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia. Prior to this engagement, Nathan worked for the Grameen Foundation [GF] as a Program Manager Agricultural Finance supporting Kenya, Uganda and Cote Devoire based at the GF Africa hub in Nairobi. Nathan is a Harvard Business School fellow and holds an MSc in Rural Finance from the State University of Bergamo Italy and a BA [Economics and Social Work] from Makerere University, Kampala.
