The Zambeze University (UniZambeze) is a public institution of higher education based in Beira (Sofala Province) founded in 2007. It is established in the central region of the country with six faculties throughout the four provinces of middle Mozambique providing courses in the various fields of natural and applied sciences, and social studies and counts with 7096 students enrolled (2017).
Eugénio Gujamo is a young Mozambican citizen, trained in sociology and public health. Currently, I am lecturer and researcher at Zambeze University.
Aga Khan Foundation
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a non-denominational, international development agency established in 1967 by His Highness the Aga Khan. AKF has been active in Northern Mozambique since 2001, working to improve Quality of Life for vulnerable households through integrated rural development programmes.
Graham Sherbut is currently the Director of Monitoring, Evaluation & Research with the Aga Khan Foundation in Mozambique and Madagascar.
Ux Information Technologies
UX Information Technologies is a Mozambican ICT4D company developing digital services for social impact. Established in 2013, UX developed, launched and currently operates the largest online job board in Mozambique, emprego.co.mz. UX partnered with the World Bank to launch mopa.co.mz, a digital platform for citizen reporting of Municipal Services, and with the Aga Khan Foundation it created soma.co.mz, a Savings Groups training, and monitoring platform.
Tiago Coelho is a Mozambican social entrepreneur, researcher, and developer of IT services for social impact and co-founder of UX Information Technologies. He worked as a technical consultant for projects from the World Bank, USAID, UNICEF, GIZ, Microsoft, among others.
Fundación Capital Mozambique
Fundación Capital (FK) is an international organisation working to expand inclusion, partnering and innovating to help millions of families define their own paths out of poverty. Founded in 2009, FK leverages lessons from the field to develop solutions that facilitate financial and productive inclusion, aligning key players and new ideas to address entrenched problems and co-create innovative and scalable solutions. FK works to improve and develop public policies and private services that facilitate financial inclusion, transformative social protection, and economic opportunities on a massive scale. Most importantly, our organization strives to understand the problems and needs of low-income families in order to create long-term and scalable solutions, not for them, but with them.
Filipa Costa is the country representative of Fundación Capital in Mozambique, where she develops projects on financial education and inclusion for savings groups. She is an expert in strategy design and highly skilled at building sustainable societies and achieving results on a broad scale. Filipa has a master’s in development studies.
