Organizational Description:

UCB is a private institution created on November 21, 1989 by decree the Archbishop of Bukavu and approved by the presidential decree n° 06/106; June 12, 2016. After a viability check, it obtained in 2014 the final authorization to organize also Doctorate studies. UCB has seven faculties: Economics and Management, Law, Agricultural Sciences, Medicine, Computer Science and Environment, Social Sciences, and Architecture. We have approximately 3000 students, 48 Faculty with PhDs, and about 50 Junior Lecturers.

Key Person:

Bugandwa Mungu Akonkwa works as full Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Management, Catholic University of Bukavu. He has a PhD from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Master in Financial Management, and complementary level in Statistics, he has acquired a great experience in (Statistical) Data Analysis.

After a training in Microfinance (Turin, Boulder Institute of Microfinance), he worked as the Deputy Managing Director of a national Network of Savings and Credits Cooperatives.
He has published several papers in the field of Microfinance, and Marketing for Higher Education.
